You have to use a small amount and dial in how much to use based on your own hair. Use as much as you'd use normal paste or clay for your hair. It leaves a sticky, tacky, rubbery feel to your hair with zero grease or oil residue at all. Your hair goes from soft to "grippy". Which is the silica at work I guess, so that makes sense. Restyling with this is genuinely pretty darn great - a whole day and you CAN just fluff your hair around and it goes back in to the style you want again with a very, very matte look. What is kind of worrying on day 2 of using this stuff for me is that after rinsing my hair with water before going to bed, like I always do after using product during the day, it still felt somewhat tacky and not soft. I could even restyle pretty easily, but not as good as before. Fair enough, go to bed. Shower the next day, and scrubbing the shampoo around this morning..I could just feel like it was still there. Rinsed, and my hair still felt somewhat tacky. That beach hair feeling even though it had been shampoo'd and rinsed. Don't get me wrong, it didn't feel like it did the day before, but after drying it it was still somewhat stylable. Slightly worrying to be honest, not sure how long this stuff will stay in my hair and how many washes are needed to get it out fully, and nobody is talking about it in reviews.

This is it! This is the solution to thick, coarse, and "flat" hair - this powder really helps express the volume of your hair without it all compacting into a sort of uniform clump. A little works great in adding what folks call "texture", which looks like accentuated segments of hair strains/flows, however without looking too oily or wet. The same effect can be achieved in other ways such as pomades and clays, however both tend to look a little more oily/wet in their own unique ways. I think this powder probably lacks more of the hold that these alternative products advertise, however for most casual settings this isn't a concern. Highly recommend.

The best hairstyling product I have ever used. It's incredibly light and doesn't weigh hair down at all yet it has great hold and can create a lot of volume. It has no smell at all so can use it with other products without coming out smelling like a lush store. It also does not seem to wash out with only water so rain/snow/sweat won't ruin your hair. Then for fun I tried measuring with a scale about how much I use each time and it's literally a few milligrams, while the container has 20 grams. So you get a lot of uses per purchase. Current routine with short/medium wavy thick hair is to shower, use some leave in conditioner, blowdry on medium heat then sprinkle in some powder and spread it with my hands and it's good. Lasts an entire day without any issues.
